Rider House is not a nursing home and cannot provide nursing care other than minimal help and comfort. We offer a home for the independent person who does not want to live alone all the time. Residents are expected to be mobile and not to need help with dressing and toilet.We offer care with independence and a range of facilities, as listed below.A bed sitting room is provided and this will be furnished with your own furniture. Each room has its own washbasin and toilet. There are connection points to telephone and television, both terrestrial and satellite. An alarm pull cord is also provided in each room for emergency use. In addition to this, we can also arrange for the provision of a personal emergency alarm which can be carried in a pendant form. If you feel that such an alarm is necessary, details can be obtained from the Secretary or Treasurer. |

There is a communal lounge and dining room. A telephone is available in the hall.Residents are provided with ingredients for breakfast. This is so that you can prepare your own breakfast in your room at a time which may be convenient to you. A mid-day meal and a high tea are provided by the staff and served in the dining room. Morning coffee is served in the dining room at 10.30 a.m. |

Our bathroom has an "Apollo" bath. This is a bath which is specially
adapted for the less agile user. It has a seat which enables you
to enter and leave the bath with the minimum of effort. There is also a
shower room for alternative use.We do ask you to make your own arrangements for cleaning your own accommodation. If you wish you may make your own arrangements for home help or other help if you should need it. The communal and general areas are of course dealt with by our own staff. You would be responsible for your personal laundry. However there is a fully equipped laundry room with washing machine, spin dryer and ironing board. |

residents are quite free to come and go as they please. You are
provided with your own front door key as well as a key to your room. We
simply ask that you let a member of staff know if you are likely to be
out for meals. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit. Each room has its own front door bell which is operated from the main entrance door of the building and rings in the room. During the year, especially the summer months, outings are arranged for those who wish to participate. At Christmas, carol singing and seasonal entertainment is arranged for those wanting to enjoy these festivities. |
